This article explains how to configure the Kronos301 in Repeater Mode using a mobile device with Android or iOS operating system.
The configuration is done through a web browser, so there is no need to install any application.
Requirements
- Repeater Kronos301
- Mobile device with Android or iOS
- Access to the Wi-Fi network password you want to extend
Recommendations Before Starting
To avoid issues during configuration:
- Do not connect the Kronos301 via Ethernet cable to any device.
- During configuration, the phone must be connected only to the Kronos301 Wi-Fi network and not to any other network with Internet access.
- Due to the device’s age, some modern browsers may have trouble accessing the configuration interface. If you experience problems, try using another compatible browser.
Step 1. Verify Operating Mode
Locate the side switch on the Kronos301 and confirm that it is set to the Repeater position.
Step 2. Power On the Kronos301
Plug the Kronos301 into a power outlet.
If the device is off, turn it on using the side switch.
Wait about one minute until the startup process completes.
Step 3. Connect to the Kronos301 Wi-Fi Network
From your mobile device:
- Open the Wi-Fi settings.
- Look for a network with a name similar to:
Nexxt_XXXXXX
(where XXXXXX corresponds to the last six characters of the device’s MAC address).
- Select the network.
If it asks for a password, use:
12345678
Note: The password can also be found printed on the Kronos301 label.
Step 4. Access the Configuration
Open the web browser on your mobile device.
In the address bar, type:
Then press Go or Enter.
Step 5. Log In
When the login screen appears, enter:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Username | admin |
| Password | admin |
Press Login or Accept to continue.
Step 6. Run the Repeater Wizard
Once inside the configuration interface:
Select the option:
Repeater Wizard.
The Kronos301 will automatically start scanning for nearby Wi-Fi networks.
Step 7. Select the Wireless Network
When the scan finishes:
- Select the Wi-Fi network you want to extend.
- Enter that network’s password in the Key field.
Carefully verify that the password is correct.
Step 8. Save the Configuration
Press the Save button.
The Kronos301 will begin the configuration process and will reboot automatically.
Wait a few minutes until the process completes.
Step 9. Verify the New Network
Once the configuration is complete, the Kronos301 will start rebroadcasting the main network’s signal.
By default, the new wireless network will have a name similar to the following:
NetworkName-ext
For example:
- HomeWiFi
- HomeWiFi-ext
Connect to the new network to verify that you have Internet access.
Important Information
Important: The Kronos301 is a discontinued product and no longer receives firmware updates or maintenance from the manufacturer. Because of this, some current browsers or mobile devices may have difficulties accessing its configuration interface due to incompatibilities with the security certificates or web protocols used by the device.
If you cannot access the configuration page even after following the steps in this article, it is likely that this limitation is due to the product’s age and not a device malfunction.
In that case, it is recommended to replace the Kronos301 with a more recent Wi-Fi repeater or Mesh system, either from Nexxt Solutions or any other brand of your choice, which offers compatibility with current browsers, better security standards, and superior wireless performance.
Recommendations
- Install the Kronos301 in a location where it still receives a good signal from the main router.
- Avoid placing it too far from the router, as a weak signal will affect connection speed and stability.
- If you change the main router’s password, you will need to reconfigure the Kronos301 with the new password.
