This article explains how to configure the Kronos300 (AEIEL304U1) in Universal Repeater Mode using its web interface.
The configuration can be done from any Internet browser, such as:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox
- Opera
- Internet Explorer (if still available)
Note: In this article, the configuration will be done wirelessly (Wi-Fi), without using a network cable.
Important: The Kronos300 is a discontinued product and no longer receives firmware updates or maintenance from the manufacturer. Because of this, current web browsers (such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox) may prevent access to its configuration interface due to incompatibilities with the security certificates or web protocols used by the device.
If it is not possible to access the configuration page even after following the steps in this article, this limitation is likely due to the product's age and not a device malfunction.
In this case, it is recommended to replace the Kronos300 with a more recent Wi-Fi repeater or Mesh system, either from Nexxt Solutions or any other brand of your choice, that offers compatibility with current browsers, modern security standards, and better wireless performance.
Requirements
- Kronos300 Repeater
- Laptop or PC with Wi-Fi connection
- Access to the password of the Wi-Fi network you want to extend
Before You Begin
On the back of the Kronos300, you will find a label with the device information.
On this label, you can see the MAC address.
Take note of the last six (6) characters of the MAC, as these will be part of the Wi-Fi network name that the repeater will broadcast.
For example:
MAC: 84:C9:B2:12:34:56
Network name:
Nexxt_123456
Step 1. Power On the Kronos300
Plug the Kronos300 into a power outlet and wait about one minute until the startup process is complete.
Step 2. Connect to the Kronos300 Network
From your computer:
- Open the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
- Look for a network with a name similar to:
Nexxt_XXXXXX
(where XXXXXX corresponds to the last six characters of the MAC).
- Connect to that network.
If it asks for a password, use:
12345678
Note: It is normal for Windows to indicate "No Internet Access" while connected to the Kronos300 during configuration.
Step 3. Access the Configuration Page
Open your Internet browser and type the following address:
re.nexxtsolutions.com
Step 4. Log In
When the login screen appears:
- Password:
admin
Then click OK.
Step 5. Search for Available Wi-Fi Networks
Upon entering the configuration:
- Go to the Setup section.
- Make sure Range Extender Mode is selected.
- Press the OPEN SCAN button.
The Kronos300 will scan and display all nearby Wi-Fi networks.
Step 6. Select the Network to Extend
Select the Wi-Fi network you want to repeat.
When you do this, the following fields will be automatically filled in:
- Associated Root AP
- Associated Root Channel
Step 7. Configure Wireless Security
The security type is not configured automatically, so you must select it manually.
Configure the following parameters according to the main network:
- Security Mode
- WPA Algorithm (if applicable)
- Security Key (Wi-Fi password)
Example:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Security Mode | WPA-PSK |
| WPA Algorithm | AES |
| Security Key | Wi-Fi network password |
Important: The password must be entered exactly as it is on the main router, respecting uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.
If you do not know the wireless network security type:
- Check the router’s configuration.
- Or contact your Internet provider if you use equipment supplied by them.
Step 8. Save the Configuration
Once all fields are completed:
- Press SAVE.
- Wait a few minutes while the Kronos300 applies the configuration.
During this process, the device will automatically restart.
Step 9. Verify Operation
Once the configuration is complete:
- The Nexxt_XXXXXX network will no longer appear.
- The Kronos300 will connect to the main Wi-Fi network.
- All devices will continue using the same wireless network as the main router.
For good coverage, place the Kronos300 in a spot where it still receives a stable signal from the main router.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What should I do if my network uses WEP security and that option does not appear?
Select:
- Security Mode: SHARED
- Enter the password in WEP KEY 1
- Select the HEX format
Recommendations
- Keep the Kronos300 within range of the main network to ensure a stable connection.
- Avoid installing the repeater in places where the Wi-Fi signal is very weak, as this will affect the performance of the extended network.
- If you change the main router’s password, you will need to reconfigure the Kronos300 with the new password.
